Geospatial Information Science and Technology Online Programs

Geospatial Information Science and Technology (GIST) is the study of the theory and practice of geospatial analysis and Geographic Information Systems. NC State provides an outstanding opportunity for training in GIST through its multidisciplinary graduate programs.  Housed within the Center for Geospatial Analytics, The GIS online programs at NC State University are multi-faceted and entirely interdisciplinary to meet the challenges of the geospatial profession, including ever-changing technologies and the integration of GIS as a tool and methodological approach drawing on theory from particular disciplines.

The Center and our programs have been nationally recognized: We were one of the first GIS programs recognized by the National Professional Science Masters Association. In addition, we are a NGA USGS Center of Academic Excellence in Geospatial Sciences, a designated Esri Development Center (one of only a handful in the country), and a North American hub for Open Source Geospatial solutions through the OSGEO Foundation.
